“Happy #MothersDay! Planned Parenthood is proud to celebrate mothers in the U.S. and around the world. We’re committed to fighting for a world where all mothers can live healthy lives, and raise their children in peace.”

This was tweeted out by Planned Parenthood on Mothers Day this past week. I instantly found this tweet very ironic as I was reading it because Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion provider as it has performed roughly more than 300,000 abortions per year over the past couple years. According to Family Research Council, every 98 seconds one baby was aborted at a Planned Parenthood facility.

I’ve noticed a common trend whenever I’m on Facebook or Twitter and I make a comment ripping into Planned Parenthood because of all the abortions they’re responsible for. Quite often, a random person who’s on the left will come back at me and say something like “abortions aren’t the only thing Planned Parenthood does.” Trust me, I’m very aware of this. They also provide resources like sex education, contraception, STD testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and more. But when you’re the leading abortion provider in the United States, it’s hard to overlook that.

Back to the irony. In their tweet, Planned Parenthood claimed that they were “proud to celebrate mothers in the U.S. and around the world.” It doesn’t make any sense to me how you can murder babies and take motherhood away from women and then at the same time celebrate mothers. You can do one or the other, but not both. Planned Parenthood also claimed in their tweet that they want mothers to be able to raise their children in peace. Well, if by peace you mean murdering the child in the womb so their mother doesn’t have to deal with them then okay, I guess.

It’s almost the same scenario as people on the left (not everyone) celebrating mothers day but every other day of the year they’re out there saying women need to be working jobs and be in powerful positions instead of staying home with their children because they’re oppressed by evil men and they need to show that they’re equal to them. Here’s the problem with this: men and women are already equal. Sure, there are some jobs that are better suited for men and that men are better at, but there are also jobs that are better suited for women and that women are better at. That’s just how it is. I’m not going to pretend that men and women are equal in every sense because that’s just stupid. There are certain things men are better at, and there are certain things that women are better at. Traditionally, it was the man who went out and worked to provide for the family while the woman stayed home and did the cooking, the cleaning, and took care of the kids. But times have changed. In some cases, the roles are reversed where the women works and the man stays home. That’s completely fine! But to suggest that women have to go out and work instead of choosing to stay home and be a “traditional” women makes them a terrible person and a victim of the patriarchy is just ridiculous. But this is what people on the left want to believe and, again, they’ll make this their battle cry every other day of the year but on Mothers Day they’ll celebrate mothers and talk about how wonderful they are. You can’t have it both ways.
