The Media Gets it Wrong…Big Time

“Fake news” is a very common phrase for people on the right, and for a good reason. But I’ve always been very lenient in using the term to describe a news outlet or a story they publish because I feel like many people on the right sometimes use it when they see news they just don’t like, even though it’s not really fake news. Which, I get it. I’m one of those on the right and it’s been a very frustrating two years or so seeing the media portray then-candidate and now President Donald Trump as this terrible, evil, Hitler-like person who was just the worst thing that’s ever happened to humanity. His racism, hatred, bigotry, sexism, misogyny…you get the picture, are signs that he is indeed the anti-Christ. All of that was sarcasm, of course. Every single one of those things the media has pushed about Trump are lies but they continue to peddle them simply because he has an “(R)” next to his name.

I think it’s very clear that the mainstream media are biased even though they claim to be objective in their reporting. I don’t think it’s hard to see that they have an agenda and will almost constantly report negative news concerning one side while reporting positive news concerning the other side. Sometimes, they will even blatantly lie in order to push their agenda. This post is about that exact thing happening.

As you might know, President Trump announced in December of 2017 that the United States will officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital is Isreal and will move their embassy there from Tel Aviv. Which, this is a very good thing. Jerusalem has been, and always will be the capital of Israel and to say otherwise is complete nonsense. But the media portrayed this as a terrible, terrible thing. They suggested that this could start World War 3 and all kinds of other troubles. While there have been violent riots and protests, there has been no full-scale war to date and it doesn’t look to be a possibility, either.

The embassy opened May 14, 2018, and there was much celebration among the Jews in Israel but there were also riots at the border caused by the Palestinians who were led by the terrorist group, Hamas. You would think it’s in Israel’s best interest to fight back against Hamas and defend their border, which they did. Because if they didn’t fight back and just let all the rioters into the country, they’d have to kill even more of them. But the media reported this as if Israel was doing something deeply wrong in defending their border even though Hamas admitted that 50 of the 60 protesters that were killed were of their own. So Israel is eliminating terrorists in defending their border but the media still goes out of their way to defend the terrorists? I mean, Hamas clearly stated that most of the people killed at the border were theirs and the media was like, “Oh, are you sure about that?” Only in an attempt to portray Israel as the bad guy. This wasn’t the only instance of obvious media bias, however.

On Wednesday of last week, President Trump was in a meeting at the White House, of which the topic was immigration. One of the people at the meeting brought up the gang MS-13 and how big of a problem they have become. Trump responded by saying “We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — we’re stopping a lot of them. But we’re taking people out of the country, you wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people, these are animals, and we’re taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before.” I completely agree with Trump on this. These are people who behead their victims and have also been known to rip the hearts out of people while they’re still alive. In fact, the motto for MS-13 is “rape, control, kill.” What else do you need to realize that this is a horrible group of people? But what did the media do? They took this statement by the president wildly out of context and twisted it and then reported it as he called all immigrants and illegal immigrants animals. If you were ever unsure as to whether there’s media bias or not, this should seal the deal for you. The media will literally stop at nothing in their attempts to take down Trump, they’ll even defend terrorist groups like Hamas and MS-13. In a speech Trump gave during his campaign back in 2016, he said this about the media “The corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism, they’re a political special interest, no different than any lobbyist or any other financial entity with a total political agenda.” Spot on, Mr. Trump. And then the media wonder why so many people don’t trust them anymore. It’s exactly because of garbage reporting like this.

Here’s the thing, though. Trump has this really awesome superpower. You know what it is? It’s that he can make people on the left love or hate anything. Trump can say he likes the color blue and the media would go nuts and say things like “blue is the worst color ever!” or something else ridiculous. In this case, Trump attacks a terrorist group, as he absolutely should, and since the left hates Trump so much, they’ll defend anything he hates and in turn, defends terrorists. I think it’s safe to say that at this point, Trump could announce that oxygen is wonderful and an essential part of life and leftists would suffocate themselves.
